Formation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs)

Kalyana Bharathi Trust members have created an awareness among the target groups to promote the concept of the Self Help Groups (SHGs) and its formation in villages, with an objective to encourage thrift habit among poor women and include them in the Self Help Groups.

Formation of Self Help Groups is our target area to encourage and start internal lending among the group members.

It resulted in reduced dependency on private money lenders who charge high rates of interest.

Furthermore, it boosts the confidence of poor women to work for their self economical development as a group.

We conduct monthly meeting of every Self Help Group. Savings and other issues of the area will be discussed in the meetings.

The groups are empowered to raise their voice in the meetings.

The identified leaders are given the training in group dynamics, Rules and Regulations of the groups, and maintenance of records.

The leaders of the Self Help Groups (SHGs) works with their members for the income generation of each of its members in the group.
